I am finally doing my first post, and I have a lot to say!
I landed in Paris last Friday and over the past few days I have been very busy, therefore very tired. In Paris I met with the AFS group and we all got to know each other pretty well. We stayed in tiny little rooms in a hostel and traveled to the center of Paris and all the famous things. My favorite was of course Le Tour Eiffel, but I also loved Champs Elysees. Sunday afternoon I got to my host families house and I already feel as if I have known them forever! I have two sisters, Ludmila and Emma, and a mom and a dad. When I got to my house they showed me my new room and I unpacked and became acquainted with everyone. I really like my new house and my family!!
I started school yesterday and it was really hard. I started out on the Math and science track, but I switched out of it because it was impossible. Now I take the French and Literature track, which thankfully I am good at. My schedule is very difficult to understand as no day is the same and I have weird hours to go to school. For example, on Monday I start school at 10:20 have two hours, skip 3 hours, then have one more and then I am done. And on Wednesday I start at 10:20 and am done by 12:15…it is pretty nice. But some days I do not end until 6:15, so it is all very different from what I am used to.
I really miss my home but I feel as though I am already improving my French!

Salut, Amanda! Ca va? Ca va bien ici. Love your photo and update! We need more! Have got to hear about the food! The pastries, bread, snacks, etc.
ReplyDeleteNo doubt your total immersion experience is bringing your French to a new level! What about pop music? When I was there, Vanessa Paradis was cool, now she's old like me and just broke up with Johnny Depp! LOL! Post soon! Bises, Kelly
Bonjour ma cherie,
ReplyDeleteTa mere vient de me donner ton adresse. On te suit dans la classe de Francais 2 period 6 en ce moment.
Mes eleves voudraient savoir si ta famille d'acceuil parle anglais.
Ils me posent la question: "How much do you not understand in French?" Justin voudrait te dire qu'il t'aime. Et moi aussi. Tu nous manques beaucoup!
Je t'embrasse tres fort,
Mme Cogan
